CleanTabs AI looks at your open tabs and proposes which ones to close, using the AI that Chrome runs on your own computer. You correct what it gets wrong, it learns, and once it gets it right it can close them in one click. Your tabs never leave the browser.

Why not just close everything?
- Because some tabs matter: mail, the document you are writing, the dashboard you use all day.
- You decide what is important; it learns the rest from your corrections.
- Nothing closes without a way back: there is always Undo.
- No API keys or subscriptions: the AI is already in your browser.
How to install and use it
- Install it from the Chrome Web Store. The options page opens with three quick steps.
- Mark a few domains or topics as Important, Not important or Work. "Work" stays open during your work hours.
- If your computer supports it, turn on the browser AI from the options (one-time download).
- Click the icon: you get "Will close" and "Will stay open". Move anything that is wrong and confirm.
- When it gets it right, switch to advanced mode: one click closes the unimportant tabs, with Undo.

Features
- Learning mode. Every proposal shows the reason for each tab. Every correction is saved and improves the next proposal.
- Advanced mode. Closes directly and shows what it closed, with an Undo button that reopens the tabs with their history.
- Never closes pinned tabs, tabs playing audio, the active tab of each window or browser pages. Optionally, tabs with half-filled forms.
- Works without AI too. If your computer cannot run the browser AI, it decides with your rules and heuristics (duplicates, empty tabs, hours unused) and tells you so.

Privacy
- The extension makes no network requests: tab titles and URLs are processed on your computer.
- Your rules and what it learns are stored only in your browser, and you can erase them from the options.
- No accounts, analytics or third-party sharing. Checking half-filled forms is optional and needs a permission you can revoke.

Does CleanTabs AI send my tabs to an AI service?
No. It uses the model built into Chrome, which runs on your computer. The extension makes no network requests.
What if my computer cannot run the browser AI?
It still works, with your rules and heuristics, and the popup tells you so.
Can it close something important by mistake?
Pinned tabs, tabs with audio and the active tab are never closed. Anything else can be reopened with Undo.
What does "Work" mean?
Work tabs stay open during your work days and hours (configurable) and can be closed outside them.
